Anansi

Anansi — the trickster spider of the Akan (Ashanti) people of Ghana and one of West Africa’s foremost cultural heroes; in the Akan tongue his name means “spider.” By legend all the world’s stories belong to him: he bought them from the sky god Nyame, and ever since every tale is an “Anansi story.” The series is about how an event is displaced by the story told of it — a narrative spun like a web, shimmering, all-encompassing and fragile, retold as truth until the thread snaps.
